DRILL NORTH PTY LTD is a drilling company operating in Far North Queensland, owned and directed by Mike and Liz Pulman and Wayne and Jan Doran (of NZ).  Mike and Liz manage the company from it’s workshop in Malanda, on the Atherton Tableland.  

Mike has been manufacturing specialised drill rigs since 1994 in Australia and for some years previously in New Zealand where he worked with drilling companies on both sides of the Tasman.

He has 25 years drilling experience in many parts of the world and formed Drill North in 2005 to focus his attention in North Queensland. 

His knowledge of the geography and geology of this region have been key in securing many partnerships with leading exploration companies who trust they will get attention and quality of result.

The Drill North team of 25 people have been trained and developed by Mike to the highest degree.

Quartz Drilling 

The Tructor Rig spent a little over a week in quartz country near Mt Surprise.

Spectacular vistas - a local landmark aptly named the lighthouse.

Some difficult ground to drill but the crew achieved the metres required.

DRILL NORTH  RIGS:

The TRUCTOR DT600TMPC Rig, an idea in Mike’s mind since 1980, and an R&D project (for the manufacturing arm – Drill Technics Australia Pty Ltd) since 2001, has been drilling both client’s exploration projects and water bores since 2005. 

This specialised rig has ease of access to drill sites, is capable of traveling at 70kph between sites, and is an all in one purpose built machine perfect for 1st pass exploration.  

A 300psi x 600cfm air compressor, 1.2m leveling jacks, front mounted blade, rod changing capabilities, hydraulic fluid pump feature and it weighs less than 13 tonnes!  Reverse Circulation (RC) 100m / Aircore 100m / Water Bore 50m / Diamond PQ 200m HQ 400m NQ 600m Drilling – it’s versatile and efficient.
